GoToWebinar is one of the most famous webinar solutions on the market. They have been there for a very long time. GoToWebinar is created and marketed by LogMeIn, which merged with Citrix in 2016.
While the GoToWebinar software requires a download and install for host and attendees, the company provides a no-download, browser-based alternative called GoToWebcast.
Zoom was founded in 2011 by a lead engineer from Cisco Systems and more specifically WebEx. Zoom is one of the fastest growing video collaboration software around. Its main focus is with online video meetings, which can be adapted to host webinars.
Having something to download adds friction for registrants and will reduce your webinar's attendance overall. Downloading a third party software every time to attend a webinar is usually not recommended in a B2B configuration (network, firewalls, etc.).
With Livestorm's entirely web-based experience, no download is required. You will bring more people to your webinars and miss less opportunities only for technical reasons.
Providing a frictionless experience to participants directly increases the average attendance in every webinar session. Hence the need for a no-download webinar solution.
Not supporting the new standards in live video streaming (HTML5) can result in delays between the presenter and what the participants actually view (and can create confusion), poor user experience or worst: connectivity issues.
Livestorm works in WebRTC. Real-time, with no install required from the participants nor the hosts.
Livestorm comes with analytics that give you a better understanding of your webinars’ audience, and lets you segment it: registrants to attendees ratio, expanded data on all participants (company, company size, industry etc.).
If you're hosting a sales webinar, all this data is available for you to properly target warmer leads afterwards.
If you're hosting a training webinar, it will be easier then to identify customers that need more care from your Customer Success team.
