What Is The Check-In?

The Check-In is a quick ice breaker game designed to help coworkers share their current feelings or thoughts. The goal is to create camaraderie with team members, building empathy and rapport.

The Check-In Rules

  1. Each participant takes a turn to share how they're feeling or what's on their mind. Encourage everyone to use metaphors or similes to make their responses creative and engaging.
  2. Keep each contribution concise. Set a time limit (say, 30 seconds) to keep the game moving.
  3. Make sure everyone listens actively and respectfully during each person's turn.
  4. Wait until everyone has had a turn before inviting participants to react to or comment on others' contributions. Allow time for your team to provide encouragement or sympathy.
