Webinar software comparison: Webex vs Google Meet

Webex vs Google Meet: features

Google Meet and Webex have various features that help plan and host webinars. As far as accessibility goes, anyone with a Google account can launch Google Meet right in the browser of any desktop device or ESom the mobile app. Webex must be downloaded.

Considering the promotional functionalities of these platforms, Google Meet has the advantage over Webex with its built-in system of reminder emails. Users can moderate their audience while using the Google Meet platform, but can not do so when using Webex. In addition, with Google Meet you can invite anyone in the audience onstage – a feature missing from Webex.

Both tools lack a few key webinar features. Neither Webex nor Google Meet offer on-demand webinars. Nor do either of these platforms have webinar automations that let users launch webinars, end them, or play videos automatically. It is the same case for registration widgets.

Webex vs Google Meet: integrations

Google Meet is part of Google's Workspace collection of productivity tools, and as such, is integrated with each of the 5 Google Workspace tools that fall under this umbrella for Workspace plan holders. If you are looking to conduct workflows that go beyond Google, you can easily connect your favorite apps to Google Meet through Zapier.

There is currently no direct API or SDK for Google Meet, making the potential for customization quite limited. Google Meet does not have an app marketplace. In comparison, Webex offers much more possibilities for customization when it comes to advanced workflows.

With Webex's API, SKD, and Widgets you can create the webinar experience that best fits your needs. Their existing bi-directional integrations allow your data to be synced between two or more systems, a popular choice for either their meeting or messaging applications. You can visit their App Hub to explore their available integration options.

Webex vs Google Meet: pricing

Google Meet starts at a free plan that offers unlimited meetings for up to 100 participants. Meetings between 3 or more participants can be no longer than one hour. Webex has a ESee tier called the Basic Plan that features meetings up to 50 minutes long for no more than 100 people.

Webex's next plan is a $25 Meet + Call Plan that gives users premium meeting features and cloud-based calling, a $15 Meet Plan specialized only for meetings, and a $17 Call Plan. Google Meet can be accessed via a Google Workspace Plan for individuals at just $ 7.99 a month that gives users full access to Google workspace tools.

Both Google Meet and Webex have an enterprise offer. Webex's Enterprise offer comes with enhanced security features, messaging and collaboration features, meetings and video conferencing, and advanced support. Google Workspace for Enterprise boasts robust meeting features, high security and privacy standards, customer support and key collaboration features.
