What is Crowdcast ?

Crowdcast can be labeled as a live streaming solution which enables organizing online events. Launched in 2014 Crowdcast has its central office in San Francisco, California. Crowdcast's biggest clients would be considered to be small businesses and enterprises based around the world. Approximately 15 staff members work for Crowdcast, with a large percentage that studied computer science and have developed an expertise in operations. The platform provides language options like English and it is compatible with most devices.

WebinarJam vs Crowdcast: features

WebinarJam is browser-based and can be hosted from a computer, phone, or tablet. However, attendees experiencing bandwidth issues cannot dial into events. Crowdcast, meanwhile, can be accessed via a desktop browser and mobile application.

It is possible to promote WebinarJam events with branded registration pages and forms, although these do not support custom fields. Crowdcast has a full suite of promotional tools, such as a Smart URL feature.

Engagement features within WebinarJam include whiteboards, CTAs, and “video injections,” or the insertion of pre-recorded videos into webinars. However, it lacks virtual backgrounds. Crowdcast offers a useful multi-streaming feature but offers no real-time emoji reactions.

Finally, WebinarJam users can access basic analytics, and run on-demand webinars, as well. However, they cannot automatically share pre-recorded events with registrants. Crowdcast offers more robust analytics but has no data enrichment tool.

WebinarJam vs Crowdcast: integrations

WebinarJam offers its users a limited amount of native integrations, most of which are autoresponders and CRMs designed to help improve sales conversions. Some popular examples include Keep, Drip, and Mailchimp. There are also a variety of integrations available for Crowdcast, such as ConvertKit, Stripe, and Patreon.

One of WebinarJam’s benefits is that it offers an API for third parties to connect applications to the platform. Crowdcast does not provide an API option, however.

Unfortunately, WebinarJam does not offer any plugins or widgets that could improve the in-room experience, nor does it offer a public SDK that users can use to create custom plugins. Crowdcast lacks a public SDK option, as well.

Finally, while WebinarJam does not offer a public app marketplace, plan subscribers will be able to view integration options in their Admin panels. Despite offering a few integration options, Crowdcast does not list them anywhere, either to customers or non-customers.

There are no free plans for WebinarJam, although all plans do have a 14-day free trial period. Crowdcast is the same in that it has no free plan but does extend a two-week trial period for all options.

The most affordable WebinarJam plan, Basic, supports up to 500 attendees and two hours of streaming for $499 per year. The most cost-efficient Crowdcast plan is its Starter plan, which supports 50 participants for $29 per month.

WebinarJam also offers a Professional plan at $699 per year, letting users stream to up to 2000 attendees for three hours. Crowdcast, meanwhile, offers two plans for small businesses: The Lite plan, which supports up to 100 participants for $49 per month, and the Pro plan, which supports up to 250 participants for $90 per month.

WebinarJam also offers an Enterprise plan solution for $999 per year, which supports up to 5,000 attendees and 4 hours of streaming. Crowdcast’s Enterprise option, Business, costs $195 per month and supports up to 1000 live.
