Webinar software comparison: Crowdcast vs Zoom

Crowdcast vs Zoom: features

Users can access Crowdcast via desktop or mobile application. Zoom, while primarily browser-based, can also be accessed via an app, and users can dial in to meetings and webinars.

Built-in landing pages and push notifications about the webinars are some of Crowdcast’s best promotional features. In fact, the platform lacks little in terms of promotional tools. Zoom, by contrast, offers users a customizable registration page. However, hosts cannot restrict registrations to professional email addresses.

Chats, polls, CTAs, and Q&As are just a few activation features available in Crowdcast. However, there is no way for moderators and hosts to chat privately. Zoom helps hosts engage with participants via chats, polls, and Q&As, but they cannot activate participants with CTAs.

Lastly, event hosts using Crowdcast can gain insights into audience attendance and participation with its analytics tool, but there is no data enrichment tool. Zoom offers a robust analytics dashboard but has no automation capability.

Crowdcast vs Zoom: integrations

Stripe, Patreon, and Drip are just a few integrations that can be used with Crowdcast. A wide array of native integrations are also available for Zoom's different products, including Zoom Meeting, Zoom Webinar, and Zoom Phone. Some of the most popular Zoom integrations include Salesforce, Hubspot, and Keap.

There is no API option available for Crowdcast currently. Zoom users will find more flexibility in that department with the Zoom API tool. Very detailed documentation for this is available on the Zoom website, which also has a dedicated portal for developers.

Those wishing to create plugins and widgets for Crowdcast will also be disappointed, as there is no public SDK option. Zoom offers a public SDK as of March 2021; before that time, users primarily had to rely on Zoom Apps to enhance their in-room webinar experience.

Crowdcast's integrations are not displayed on any app marketplace. Zoom's integrations, however, can be easily accessed on the Zoom website.

Crowdcast vs Zoom: pricing

A free two-week trial option is available for Crowdcast. However, it does not offer any free plans. Zoom’s free plan supports an unlimited number of meetings with up to 100 participants, as long as they are less than 40 minutes long.

Crowdcast’s most low-priced plan is its Starter plan, which, at $29 a month, supports up to 50 participants. Zoom offers an affordable solution as well, called Pro plan, which starts at about $15 per month and supports up to 100 participants.

Crowdcast offers small businesses two affordable options: the Lite plan, at $49 per month, and the Pro plan, at $90 per month. Zoom’s most comparable option is Zoom Business, starting at $20 per month per user.

Crowdcast also has a plan tailored for enterprises, called the Business plan, which costs $195 per month and supports up to 1000 attendees. Zoom offers a robust option for large companies, too, called Zoom Enterprise, which starts at $20 per month per user and offers extra features like unlimited cloud storage.
