Webinar software comparison: WebinarJam vs Microsoft Teams

WebinarJam vs Microsoft Teams: features

WebinarJam is a browser-based solution whose events can be hosted from phone or tablet. However, attendees are not able to dial in to webinars via phone. Microsoft Teams can be accessed via desktop or mobile app.

WebinarJam users can promote events with branded registration pages, but hosts cannot restrict registrations to professional email addresses. Microsoft Teams also offers a landing page, which has strong Microsoft branding despite being somewhat customizable.

Audience activation tools in WebinarJam include CTAs, polls, chats, and surveys, but it does not support virtual backgrounds. Microsoft Teams offers a basic chat feature and emoji reactions but has no private chat for presenters and moderators.

Lastly, while WebinarJam does not have very robust reporting tools, it does permit event recording. However, pre-recorded events cannot be automatically shared. Microsoft Teams offers an analytics dashboard, but it is not built-in, and all data must be exported.

WebinarJam vs Microsoft Teams: integrations

Although WebinarJam does not have an abundance of native integration options, it does offer a few, such as Mailchimp, Drip, and Keep. Microsoft Teams, meanwhile, can easily integrate with tools like Trello, Mural, and Salesforce, although users will usually have to pay extra for these integrations.

One notable advantage of WebinarJam is its third-party API tool, which allows developers to create their own unique integrations and solutions for the platform. Microsoft Teams is just as flexible with its own API option.

Microsoft Teams also provides users with a public SDK, creating hosted experiences for the Teams Tabs and Task modules. However, WebinarJam does not offer any such SDK option.

Finally, Microsoft Teams displays all integration options in a well-organized integration marketplace and also provides a collaborative hub for developers called the Dev Center. WebinarJam does not display its integrations publicly, although WebinarJam subscribers will be able to view them.

WebinarJam vs Microsoft Teams: pricing

No free plan is available for WebinarJam, although there is a 14-day free trial. Microsoft Teams, by contrast, does offer a free plan, which supports up to three participants per event.

WebinarJam’s most affordable plan is its Basic plan, starting at $499 a year. Basic will support 500 attendees, two hosts, and a two-hour streaming duration per event. Microsoft Teams’ cheapest plan is its 365 Business Basic plan, which bundles four Microsoft products for $5 a month.

WebinarJam’s second option, Professional, starts at $699 and permits streaming to as many as 2,000 attendees. It also allows four hosts and a three-hour duration. There is no similar webinar plan for Microsoft Teams.

The final plan option in the WebinarJam suite is the Enterprise plan, starting at $999 a year. It will support up to 5,000 attendees, six hosts, and four hours of streaming. Microsoft Teams’ equivalent is the Microsoft 365 Business Standard, which bundles over 10 Microsoft products for $12.50 a month.
