ON24 vs Microsoft Teams: which webinar software is right for you?

It is possible to use Microsoft Teams from desktop browsers and mobile applications, while On24 is a no-download platform.

On24’s webinars have adjustable email sequences, making it easy to schedule reminders. However, they can't host the registration page anywhere they want. On24 offers many useful integration options, such as HubSpot, Salesforce Pardot, and Action. In addition, Microsoft Teams provides integrations for sales managers, marketing professionals, and support representatives. However, adding integrations costs an extra fee.

On24 users can create their integrations for the platform, as it offers a suite of REST APIs covering functions like account analytics, event analytics, event management, and registration. In addition, Microsoft Teams also provides an API, which can be used to automate team lifecycles, deploy apps to teams, and more.

On24 offers a wide range of widgets designed to optimize its in-room experience. On the downside, it does not offer an SDK, so developers cannot build custom features. Microsoft Teams, by contrast, offers a JavaScript SDK that is mainly designed to help developers create their own Tabs and Task modules.

Lastly, both On24 and Microsoft Teams list integration options on their respective websites.

Both Microsoft Teams and On24 offer a free webinar plan, both of which support up to three participants per event. Microsoft Teams also offers free one month trials of its Microsoft 365 Basic and Microsoft 365 Business Standard products.

On24 is quite different from most popular webinar platforms, in that it does not have separate pricing plans. Instead, it lists an array of features and add-on products, and allows users to custom-build their own solution with its own unique price.

Microsoft Teams has a more typical pricing model, which starts with the 365 Business Basic plan. This very affordable plan starts at $5 per month and bundles four Microsoft products: Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

Microsoft Teams also offers a plan tailored for large businesses, called the Microsoft 365 Business Standard. For $12.50 a month, this plan bundles over 10 Microsoft products, including Teams, and supports up to 300 participants per event. Again, On24 does not have any specific plans or prices listed.
