Webinar software comparison: Adobe Connect vs Microsoft Teams

Adobe Connect vs Microsoft Teams: features

Adobe Connect and Microsoft Teams can both be used via desktop, browser, and mobile applications, making them versatile options.

Adobe Connect's strongest promotional feature is event landing pages. However, it does not allow users to automate tasks. Microsoft Teams does not have many promotional features because its webinar tools are all features of a broader product. However, users can create landing pages through an associated SharePoint Online website.

Adobe Connect offers a variety of features such as chat boxes, polls, PDF sharing, and more. The greatest drawback, engagement-wise, is that there is no background customization option. Microsoft Teams also boasts a robust chat function, but it is only a public chat for attendees and guests; no private chat box allows moderators or hosts to communicate.

Lastly, Adobe Connect provides useful "Event Reports" powered by Adobe Analytics. Microsoft Teams also gives hosts event data in Excel or CSV and the product dashboard.

Adobe Connect vs Microsoft Teams: integrations

Adobe Connect can integrate with a variety of software tools that enhance the end-user experience. Its Virtual Classroom use case, in particular, can be integrated with tools like Brightspace, Moodle, and Sakai. Microsoft Teams will integrate with other Microsoft products or other applications for extra fees.

Developers seeking to build custom applications and integrations for Adobe Connect can do so with its suite of APIs. Microsoft Teams' Teams API lets developers automate team lifecycles, among other functions.

Adobe Connect also provides a public SDK, making it possible for developers to build plugins and widgets for it. Microsoft Teams has a JavaScript SDK which provides developers with as much flexibility as Adobe Connect's SDK.

All of Adobe Connect's integrations are listed on its Apps & Integrations website page, which can be accessed directly from the browser. Microsoft Teams has both an integration marketplace and a collaborative developer's hub for their API and SDK.

Adobe Connect vs Microsoft Teams: pricing

Adobe Connect offers a free plan called Small Meetings, which supports up to three participants. Microsoft Teams also provides a free plan, which permits meetings with a maximum of 100 participants.

The next plan available for Adobe Connect is Adobe Connect Meetings, at $50 per month, which allows up to 25 participants. Microsoft Teams' lowest-priced plan is called Microsoft 365 Business Basic and starts at $5 per month. The plan allows up to 300 participants and bundles four Microsoft products.

The next tier plan in Adobe Connect is called Adobe Webinar, and it permits hosts to run webinars with up to 100 participants. Microsoft Teams' Business Standard plan more closely matches a webinar use case.

Microsoft Teams does provide an enterprise solution, the Microsoft 365 Business Standard, for $12.50 a month. This allows up to 300 participants and bundles 10 Microsoft apps and services. Adobe Connect does advertise an enterprise solution, but the price is available only upon request.
