GoToWebinar vs Zoom: which webinar software is right for you?

GoToWebinar users can access the platform either in a web browser or through a mobile application. Zoom, while primarily intended to be used via a desktop application, can still be accessed in a browser or on mobile.

GoToWebinar users can ensure that their prospects perceive their brand clearly with a personalized webinar channel. The lack of embed forms, however, may affect conversion rates. Zoom offers its users a customizable registration page, but registration cannot be strictly moderated.

User engagement isn’t an issue in GoToWebinar, which features polls, surveys, and a real-time engagement dashboard. On the downside, there are no emoji reactions. Zoom lets users engage with participants via chats, polls, and Q&As, but they cannot send CTAs.

GoToWebinar also provides a public SDK, which developers can use to create custom widgets and plugins. In addition, Zoom introduced an SDK option in March 2021 for the creation of apps and widgets that enhance the in-room experience.

All of GoToWebinar’s integration options are presented in its comprehensive integration marketplace. Hovering over an integration option will trigger a brief pop-up explanation, and clicking on it will bring the user to a quick syncing tutorial. Additionally, all of Zoom’s apps and integrations are listed on the Zoom App Marketplace, which any website visitor can access.

None of GoToWebinar’s plans are free. Zoom does offer a free plan, which permits an unlimited number of meetings capped at 100 participants and with up to 40-minute durations.

The most cost-efficient GoToWebinar plan is its Lite plan, which, for $49 per month, supports up to 100 attendees. Zoom’s most affordable plan is its Pro plan, which starts at about $15 per month per user and supports up to 100 attendees.

Medium-sized companies using GoToWebinar can opt for its Standard plan, at $99 per month, or its Pro plan, at $199 per month. The Standard plan supports up to 250 guests, while the Pro plan supports up to 500. Zoom’s most comparable option is its Business plan, which starts at about $20 per month.

GoToWebinar’s costliest solution is its Enterprise plan, which starts at $399 per month, and supports up to 3,000 attendees. Zoom also offers an Enterprise plan, which starts at $20 per month per user, supports up to 500 event participants, and offers bonus features like unlimited cloud storage.
